Hotel revenues are up 12 per cent in Dubai now worth more than $4billion in 2014 when the city welcomed 11,629,578 guests - 5.6 per cent on the previous year. The city aims to attract 20 million visitors a year by 2020.
Saudi Arabia has emerged as one of the fastest growing hospitality industries in the region as a result of religious tourism boosted by the expansion of the two Holy Mosques, which attract millions of Muslims every year. Colliers expects visitors to Makkah and Madinah to reach 25m by 2025, from just over 17.5 million last year.
