Landmarks around the world dimmed lights or went dark on Saturday night for the 10th edition of the Earth Hour campaign, the global movement against climate change.
From Sydney to Singapore, millions of people in 178 countries reportedly switched off lights for an hour starting at 8:30 local time in support of the campaign, which was started in 2007 by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The Big 5 Hub’s gallery this week lists ten iconic landmarks that switched off for the Earth Hour 2016.
