Azizi Developments has awarded construction contracts for the first phases of its huge AED 12bn ($3.2bn) Azizi Riviera development in the Meydan area of Dubai.
KSS Engineering and Construction and Zahrat Al Safa Contracting LLC have been appointed to build phase one of the project, while Seidco has been awarded the contract for phase two.
The combined project value of phase one and two is AED 6bn ($1.63bn), Azizi said in a statement.
Azizi Riviera comprises 69 mid-rise residential buildings with 13,000 units, an integrated retail district and a four and a five-star hotel.
Located within the Meydan One master plan, the project broke ground in July this year with completion of the first two phases scheduled for the second half of 2018.
Last month Azizi said it would announce two new major developments within Meydan One in the last quarter of this year. The mega projects will be four times the size and value of the Azizi Riviera located in the prestigious Meydan One district.
Azizi also said it is on course to complete the Azizi Aura Residence in Downtown Jebel Ali by Q4, 2018.
The developer says it has handed over 1,000 units in Dubai since the start of the year. It expects to complete over 80 projects before 2020, including the Azizi Riviera development in Meydan One.
