Aldar Properties is working with Viceroy Hotel Group on a new hotel project in Abu Dhabi.
The developer gave no further details on the property, which will be its second collaboration with Viceroy.
The news was announced on the same day that Aldar revealed that operation of its flagship hotel on Yas Island, Yas Viceroy will transfer to the Marriott hotel group from 1 July 2018.
The property, which sits astride the Yas Marina Formula 1 circuit, will be given a facelift before relaunching as a W Hotel later in the year.
Aldar has a portfolio of 11 hotels while Marriott operates 13 hotels in the UAE capital.
Jassem Busaibe, Chief Investment Officer of Aldar Properties, said: “We are pleased to continue our relationship with Viceroy Hotel Group on this hospitality project in line with our strategy to leverage partnerships with international operators and brands for our portfolio of eleven hotels.”
Bill Walshe, CEO of Viceroy Hotel Group, commented: “We are excited by what the next chapter brings for Viceroy Hotel Group in the region.
“Aldar has been and will continue to be a very important partner. We look forward to working with them in the drive to position Abu Dhabi globally”
