Construction work has been completed on the distinctive structure for Dubai’s Museum of the Future.
Located next to Emirate’s Towers on Sheikh Zayed Road, the building will be one of the most advanced in the world when it opens in 2020.
It features a unique facade design with Arabic calligraphy inscribed onto the exterior.
BAM International is the main contractor for the building, which was designed by Killa Design.
“The museum will provide visitors the opportunity to experience the future now,” said HE Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Managing Director of Dubai Future Foundation.
“It will be the destination for scientists, experts, innovators, and creative minds, from all over the world, to design and shape the future.”
In addition to becoming a major tourist destination, the Museum will offer advanced courses and specialised workshops, as well as public talks and events.
It is intended to offer a platform to demonstrate and test the latest inventions and prototypes from up and coming start-ups and the world’s technology giants. It will also host innovation facilities and design studios with universities, companies and research partners.
