Nakheel has awarded a contract worth EUR 5.6mn (AED 23.7mn) for piling work at its 260-metre PALM360 luxury hotel and residential project on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah.
The company named the Dubai branch of Germany-headquartered BAUER Spezialtiefbau for the work, which will take around four months to complete.
Almost 600 piles will be driven as far as 54 metres below ground in preparation for the construction of the building which will be the tallest structure on Palm Jumeirah.
Nakheel says it expects to tender the main contract for the building in the first quarter of 2019, with project completion due in 2021.
Located on Palm Jumeirah’s western crescent in 500,000 square feet of landscaped grounds, PALM360 will be home to a hotel and residences managed under the Raffles brand.
The project will also boast a sky pool on a bridge connecting its two towers 170 metres above ground.
